Sobriety, recovery and hope — one day at a time.

I’m Victor C. Lorne. I’m a writer, a husband, a father and grandfather, and someone who had to learn a completely different way of living when alcohol stopped being something I could control.
Sobriety didn’t arrive with a great flash of light. It came slowly, through meetings, other people, difficult days, ordinary moments, and learning how to get through life one day at a time.
This website is simply a place where I can share some of that journey, along with my videos and my books. I don’t have all the answers, and I would never tell anyone how they should recover. I can only talk about what helped me, what I’ve learned, and what still helps me today.
If something here gives another person a little hope, or helps them believe they can get through today without drinking, then that is more than enough for me.
Sometimes another 24 hours is all we need.
Recovery, for me, has never been about having all the answers. It has been about getting through today, learning from other people, and slowly discovering that life can become good again.
Some days are easier than others. Some lessons take a long time to sink in. But sobriety has given me things I once thought I had lost for good — peace, honesty, gratitude, and hope.
This part of the site is where I share some of what has helped me along the way. Not as advice, and certainly not as a set of rules, but simply as one person’s experience of learning to live differently.
One day at a time has turned out to be enough.
A selection of my sobriety and recovery videos, sharing experience, hope and encouragement one day at a time.

A moving story of recovery, hope, friendship and finding a new life one day at a time.
